Early years pupil premium
The early years pupil premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years providers to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3 and 4 year-olds. Early years providers are any organisation offering funded education places for children aged under 5. This includes schools, day nurseries, pre-school playgroups, nursery units of independent schools and childminders.
The additional funding is paid at the national rate of 53p per hour. This means providers will receive £302.10 for each eligible child who takes up the full 570 hours of funded early education they are entitled to. See the eligibility criteria to find out who qualifies.
